When Reuben Gray stepped on stage at Britain’s Got Talent, the 16-yr-old oozed with a genuine spirit that made the judges light up with anticipation. The self described songwriter was quiet as he told the judges his background – He’d been playing piano and writing songs since 10 years of age and his father was his biggest fan. Reuben assumed his father, a military man, would not make his performance, but boy was he wrong.

As he described how his father wouldn’t be able to make it, suddenly, a man’s voice rang out from the crowd. Then Reuben saw his father jump up from a seat next to his wife and made himself known. It was a beautiful moment.

After a collective ‘awe’ from the audience, Reuben sat at the piano center stage and began to play an original song he’d written for his girlfriend.

For the next few minutes, the room sat speechless (except for Reuben’s father who was singing along) as the young man bared his soul though his music.
