Shania Twain may be a legendary songstress, but she still looks up to others in the industry, especially Taylor Swift.
The Grammy winner recently sat down with Haute Living to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her chart-topping album, Come On Over. And she mentioned that she’s a bonified Swiftie. But for her, the admiration comes from more than just Taylor’s lyrics.
“That girl is working her butt off,” Shania said. “She is living an exhausting existence, but she’d dedicated and committed to herself, to her art, and her work.”
Shania Twain shared that Taylor Swift is one of several artists who have sent flowers to thank her for inspiring their own careers. And she admitted that the feelings were mutual. Shania admires Taylor’s drive and passion that extends much further than “ambition.”
“It isn’t even about ambition, though I’m sure that most people would call her ambitious,” she continued. “She’s an extremely hard worker, and I’m sure she’s got giant goals.”
“But it’s not all about ambition,” Shania added. “It’s about passion and committing yourself to your passion.”
Shania Twain was one of the millions who saw Taylor Swift during her record-breaking Eras tour, and she will always love and support Taylor’s work.
The 58-year-old also said that she sees a little of herself in Taylor Swift. The two have taken similar approaches to their careers, and it clearly paid off for both of them. Shania Twain and Taylor Swift have a jaw-dropping 19 Grammy Awards between the two of them.
Shania added that their work ethic “reaps rewards,” and would do so for anyone.
“So, I would say that I’m most proud of my perseverance and that I didn’t waste my talents,” she noted.
