A realtor on social media shared the sweetest story behind the paw prints on the floor of the home she was getting ready to sell. Apparently, when the previous owners were redecorating, the family dog got into the paint and left behind the incriminating prints! These pet parents were not amused by the pooch’s antics — until the animal passed away. That’s when they decided to keep the painted prints as a reminder of their deceased friend.
When TikTok realtor Caroline learned that her new clients were hoping to replace the flooring in that room, she was devastated. She wanted the new owners to be comfortable in their home, but she hated the idea of removing the sentimental paw prints on the floor!
“I’m like, ‘Wait, what about the paw prints?'” she said in her video.
Her clients wanted new floors, but she didn’t want to destroy the paw prints!
Commenters had the perfect solution to make both the new buyers and the previous owners happy.
“If they’re going to rip out the floor ask if they could possibly keep a couple boards that have paw prints on them to give to the sellers,” one person wrote.
Soon, the realtor responded, “I pitched this idea!!! She’s going to talk to the flooring people!”
In a later update, Caroline shared some good news with her followers. It turned out that the new homeowners were able to save some of the paw prints from the floor after all! Now, the realtor is in the process of figuring out how best to arrange the salvaged boards. Once the project is finished, she’ll give it to the previous owners so that they can remember their beloved pooch!
“We’re going to work on a pretty way to display it and I really hope we can see their reaction somehow!” Caroline wrote in her caption.
