Sister Madonna Buder is an 86 year old nun from Spokane, Washington. Oh, and she’s also an insane athlete. You might know her better by her nickname: “The Iron Nun.”

The Iron Nun started training for her first triathlon at age 52, thinking the physical discipline a triathlon requires would help her in her practice of spiritually disciplining herself. She had no idea that, over the next 30 years, she would go on to complete a whopping 325 triathlons! Each triathlon includes 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking, and 26.2 miles of running. And even more impressive is that 45 of those were Ironman races, meaning triple the length of a normal triathlon.
From there, the Iron Nun went on to complete her first Ironman World Championship triathlon at age 65. Then, at age 75, she became the oldest woman to complete an Ironman triathlon ever. She set a new record when she repeated the feat a year later at 76.
But Sister Madonna wasn’t done setting records. In 2012, at age 82, she completed another Ironman triathlon and became the oldest person of any sex to do so.
Nike’s unlimited campaign, set to highlight extraordinary people who push their limits, featured Sister Madonna Buder’s amazing achievements in the amazing (and hilarious) video below. Check it out!
