110-Yr-Old Man Who Spent 80 Yrs As A Firefighter Shares The Key To Long Life

Vincent Dransfield, over 100 years old, speaks to a news outlet.

At 110 years old, Vincent Dransfield is more active than some people half his age! According to a post from Pubity, he still drives himself places and runs his own errands. Although this New Jersey resident no longer works for the volunteer fire department, he still finds plenty of other ways to stay busy. Besides, after 80 years of service, the man definitely deserves a break!

When asked by PIX 11 News to share the secret to his long and healthy life, Vincent Dransfield’s answer was pretty simple.

“I drink Ovaltine every day,” said the elderly man.

Of course, we’re betting there’s more to this man’s longevity than just that. For one thing, he’s got a positive attitude toward life and an excellent sense of humor. In fact, while chatting with the news outlet about his car, he wittily informed them that he was “still driving… everyone crazy!”

For another thing, Vincent Dransfield has a wonderful family that keeps him young. His great-grandkids sang the elderly man’s praises, saying that they loved spending time with him.

“It’s a lot of fun, every single time,” said great-grandson Matthew Lista. “He tells jokes, he tells stories.”

It also helps that Vincent led an active and fulfilling life for most of his 110 years on earth. Pubity tells us that he started out working on a dairy farm from a young age. However, the elderly man told PIX 11 News that his dream was to become a firefighter, which he eventually did! The fire department where he worked still keeps pictures and memorabilia on their walls to honor him and his service.

Obviously, there’s no one secret to health and longevity. However, Vincent Dransfield’s simple approach certainly seems to have worked for him!
