Prince William Gives First Update On Wife & Family Since Kate Middleton’s Cancer Announcement

Prince William recently gave a rare update on his family following his wife, Kate Middleton’s, cancer announcement in March.

The Prince of Wales has returned to his public duties after taking a break to be with Kate and his three children;  George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, after Kate’s diagnosis.

The 41-year-old marked his third royal engagement on April 30 when he visited James’ Place Newcastle and greeted crowds along the way. While William was chatting, two women donning Union Jack flags stopped to ask how William’s family was doing, and he gave a positive update.

“Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?” one of the women asked during a conversation posted on Instagram.

“We’re all doing well, thank you,” William said with a smile.

“And obviously Catherine?” she continued

“We’re all doing well,” Prince William replied.

Kate Middleton shared her diagnosis with the world on March 22. In a video, she announced that doctors found the cancer after she underwent an unrelated abdominal surgery in January.

Kate had taken time off to heal and help her young children process the information before telling the public about her condition.

“It has taken time for me to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment,” she said in the video. “But most importantly it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be OK”

The princess noted that she is currently undergoing “preventative chemotherapy” and will cease her public duties for an undisclosed amount of time.
