Hockey Fans Bombarded The Ice Right After A Goal, 10 Seconds Later I Couldn’t Believe What I Was Seeing!

Calgary Hitman Teddy Bear charity game

The Calgary Hitmen minor league hockey team is known for something other than their skills on the rink. Their annual Teddy Bear toss charity game is one that fans wait for year-round.

Here’s how it works: after the first goal is scored in the game for the home team, the crowd is signaled to throw thousands of teddy bears (or any stuffed animal) onto the ice. Simple as that.

This year, Jordy Stallard had the first goal in the second period which instantly began the downpour of stuffed animals…28,815 stuffed animals to be exact, setting a new team record! According to The Star, it took over 30 minutes and seven vans to collect all the toys and load them up.

The Hitmen will donate those 28,000+ stuffed animals to over 50 charities in the area. Since the first Teddy Bear toss game nearly 20 years ago, the Hitmen have donated over 300,000 toys for charity.
