American Hero Loses Leg In Afghanistan Bombing, So Jay Leno Honors Sacrifice With Ride Of A Lifetime.

Our military service men and women make incredible sacrifices everyday. They leave their families for months or years at a time to serve and protect our freedoms. Most are fortunate enough to come home and surprise their loved ones, but not everyone has a sweet homecoming.

Specialist Stephanie Morris was stationed at Bagram Airforce Base in Afghanistan on the morning her life changed forever. Moments after exchanging birthday presents with her best friend on base, the Taliban launched a surprise attack, launching multiple RPG’s  that obliterated Morris’ barracks. Morris was the only one to survive the cowardly attack, but she had the fight of her life ahead of her.

After Morris was critically injured, she woke up at Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland and was told that all of her friends had passed away. Reeling from the news and a severely injured body, Morris spent years recovering and piecing her life back together. After three dozen failed surgeries to save her leg, Morris decided she’d had enough and asked doctors to amputate it in July of this year.

Jay Leno caught wind of Morris’ story and decided to do what he could to give her a moral boost. Leno surprised Morris at basketball practice and told her they were going on a road trip. The duo left the building and cruised toward their destination in a brand new sports car.

It wasn’t till the end of their excursion that Leno gave her the surprise of a lifetime.  Check out his beautiful gesture in the video below.
