Selfless 6-Yr-Old Begs Mom For Special Birthday Present, A Party For Chicago’s Homeless.

For one special 6-year-old, the greatest gift she could receive for her birthday was not the latest doll, iPad or Lego set. It was something far less expected. Armani Crews wanted more than anything to share her birthday with the homeless population in Chicago, where she lives.

After several months of bringing it up with her parents, her mother, Artesha Crews, told ABC News she realized Armani was not joking. Artesha agreed to Armani’s request and told her daughter the family would make sandwiches to give out. However, Armani was still not satisfied.

“‘No. I want the same thing we’d have at my birthday party,'” Armani insisted.

Giving it some consideration, Armani’s parents explained that if they went through with her request, she would not receive a birthday gift. Of course, this didn’t slow the young girl down a bit.

So as a “Happy Birthday”to Armani, her family purchased $300 of food, which they delivered to homeless individuals in the East Garfield Park area. And, per Armani’s demand, it was most definitely not typical sandwiches.

The Crews family distributed spaghetti, chicken, green beans, fish, mashed potatoes, cake, rolls, cookies, water and more to their new friends.

Making Armani’s birthday even more exciting, the church she attends partnered with the family, giving out care packages with toiletries and snacks in addition to the party food.
