3-Yr-Old Asks To “Toast” The New Year, But Her Adorable Misunderstanding Inspires Cutest Family Tradition.

This past weekend, we said goodbye to 2016 and welcomed the start of a new year. Around the world, people celebrate New Year’s in a variety of ways. Many people set of fireworks, like this incredible New Year’s display in Lima, Peru; many simply celebrate by making resolutions, like these 7 New Year’s resolutions you will be able to keep. But one family celebrated New Year’s Eve with toast. No, not a toast. With actual toast.

A Reddit user posted the photo below with the following caption: “We told our 3-yr-old that New Years is special because you get to toast to a new year. A few hours later she said “ARE WE GONNA MAKE TOAST NOW?!” And thus a New Year’s Day tradition was born.”

While others share a drink or a kiss at midnight, this family started the new year with toast, celebrating family and this adorable little girl’s simple misunderstanding. The look on her face is priceless.

“The fact that 5 adults took time out of their night to make it happen, instead of correcting her, is heart warming,” commented one user.

“That’s something we don’t see everyday, at least not in this genuine and spontaneous way,” added another. “I think that’s where true happiness lies, in living the moment with some lighthearted naivety. This really made my day.”
