Once again, we’re sharing a story about a unique first dance, but– this time– the bride and groom were in on the fun together!

Bride Linsday Pergola has loved dancing all her life, so of course Lindsay saw the classic 1987 hit Dirty Dancing when she was young! “It was my favorite movie growing up,” said Lindsay. So when Lindsay got engaged to Richie Guarini, she knew she had to incorporate her favorite movie into their wedding somehow… so she asked Richie if he would be okay with a non-traditional first dance.
Together, the two hatched a plan to surprise their wedding guests by performing the iconic “Time of My Life” scene as their first dance, complete with fog machine!

“I always had the idea in the back of my head every since I could remember,” said Lindsay, “I asked Richie if he would do it with me, and he agreed!”
Even though Richie isn’t a trained dancer like his dance-teacher-fiancée, he totally committed to learning the choreography and the two pulled off a brilliant performance.
“Everyone flipped out and all we could hear was everyone screaming and clapping!”Lindsay said of the guests’ reaction. “Afterwards everyone was like, ‘OMG I can’t believe you guys did that, that was amazing!’ Everyone was shocked over the fact that I got Richie to do that and that he pulled it off!â€
Not only is their dance so much fun to watch, it says a lot about this groom that he’s willing to look goofy for his bride… and it’s also a good indication that these two have a fun life together in store!
