Shopper Finds Heartbreaking Item At Goodwill & Gives It Beautiful Second Chance

Goodwill

This thrift store shopper headed to Goodwill to pick up some cheap finds and, instead, she found a sad item she wasn’t expecting: Lucy’s treat jar.

Lucy’s treat jar was covered in paw prints, with adorable sayings like, “These are really my pawprints,” on it.

It was absolutely gutwrenching to see.

The Goodwill shopper captioned her video emotionally, stating, “Excuse me while I go cry for a dog named Lucy.”

The comment section was full of viewers who felt the same way. How sad is it to see a sweet little puppy’s treat jar out of commission?

Losing a dog is really one of the hardest things that can happen to a person, universally.

“Maybe someone couldn’t handle seeing something so meaningful every day. This heartache is one of the worst things to endure,” said one viewer.

After a few days, the Goodwill shopper decided to go back to the store to see if Lucy’s jar was still there.

Much to her surprise, it was!

Instead of leaving it on the shelf this time, the shopper decided to take it home and honor Lucy’s memory.

A twist

But then… there was a sweet and powerful coincidence in the comment section.

A woman shared that her pup is facing terminal cancer. Her pup named Lucy.

“PLEASE I would love this for my terminal dog Lucy. I will happily pay extra plus shipping,” commented this dog owner.

The Goodwill shopper replied, encouraging the commenter to send her a message about Lucy’s jar. This jar just might make it back to Lucy after all!

What a powerful story about the incredible connector the Internet can be. While sometimes it’s just a spot to share laughs, it’s also an impactful way to empathize and share.

I hope this jar lands back into a doggie’s owner. It’d be great if Lucy could have her treats again!
