Naval Officer Is First Off Ship, But Crowd Goes Nuts When He Immediately Drops To A Knee & Proposes.

The HMCS St. Johns is a frigate that has served in the Canadian Forces and the Royal Canadian Navy since 1996. It’s no doubt considered an honor to sail on the ship; but– after 189 days at sea– the sailors on board were ready to get home.

For Officer Tristan Lapointe, this was especially true since he had someone back at home who he dearly missed: his girlfriend, Gabrielle Lambert.

Gabrielle was one of the 250 people who gathered on Monday to welcome the CMCS St. John’s and the sailors it carried home.

After 6 months apart, Gabrielle was overjoyed to finally see Tristan’s face again. She had no idea he had a surprise in store for her.

To Gabrielle’s delight, Tristan was the first one off the ship! He wasted no time running to her… then gave her the surprise of her life when he took a knee and asked for her hand in marriage.

To say Gabrielle was shocked would be an understatement! But, don’t worry, she said “oui”right away!

Sailors cheered as Tristan and Gabrielle shared a long-overdue embrace.
