After years in captivity, the Humane Society of the United States rescued 111 chimpanzees from horrible conditions. Most of them were being tested and had never seen daylight. Can you imagine?
The primates were relocated to Chimp Haven, a large plot of land in northwest Louisiana dedicated to rescued chimps. It is an ideal environment for these hurting animals to recover. Watch as they look up to the sky for the first time.
