Dad Tests Out His Saxophone Skills On Field Of Cows In Adorable Home Video.

When learning how to play a new instrument, it takes a while to gain the courage and confidence to play it to an audience. It’s a vulnerable situation, especially if you haven’t entirely mastered it yet.

About seven months ago, Rick Herrmann started to learn to play the saxophone. Having gained some skill, Rick felt ready to perform in public – but not so much for humans. So, he decided to play to a field of cows (hey, every artist has their own process, right?).

Rick’s wife captured the concert on camera and sent the video to their daughter, Erin. Erin was completely tickled by the video and her dad that she decided to post it on Twitter saying, “My parents are such goofs they drove out to the backroads so my dad could play the cows the songs he’s been learning on the saxophone.”

Erin posted the video thinking nothing of it – aside from how silly her dad is. But then, as most amazing things do, the video went viral.

It’s no shock that it gained so much attention. The video is more than just a sax solo, it’s a depiction of what music can do for animals. As Rick plays to the large field of cows, they all stop at the sound of the instrument, look towards Rick, and eventually start walking up to him like a crowd at a concert.

Rick plays “Isn’t She Lovely” and “Careless Whisper” to the cows as they walk up to the fence to get a front row seat for the show. The cows literally walk multiple yards to get up close and personal to him.

If this is what Rick needed to gain a little confidence in his sax skills, then it’s safe to say the cows (and the rest of the internet) love him! Hopefully, this isn’t the last farm concert he puts on.

Watch Part 2 of Rick’s amazing performance in the video below. Be sure to spread the word and share this with your friends!
