Eden SanBoeuf decided to begin her weight loss journey as a 2015 New Year’s resolution. Many would have written her off. After all, most people who make New Year’s resolutions often fail.
But as Eden said, “I was so tired of being overweight [and] I was fed up.”
“I was only 25 and my body was falling apart. I always felt sick, exhausted, and even doing small tasks were so hard for me to do. It was not only the physical challenges, but mentally I had become a very negative person. When I got my wedding photos back, I saw how heavy I was in them. That was a huge wake up call. I was not supposed to be at my biggest I have ever been on my wedding day, but that is exact what had happened.
Eden was tired of feeling sick and in need of a drastic change.
However, Eden’s new fitness goal was nearly thrown off track by a heartbreaking situation. She and her husband, Richard, were eagerly anticipating the birth of their first child, when doctors told them the child had anencephaly, “a condition where the skull and brain do not fully form.”
“I will never forget that moment when they told me my son was not going to survive. On January 27, 2016, my son was born. I like to say that was the best, worst day ever. I met and lost my son on the same day.”
After losing her baby boy, Wyatt, Eden realized she had a decision to make. Would she return to old habits or continue on her weight loss journey?
“I decided I would continue my healthy lifestyle. Not only would I continue but I would live my life for Wyatt. I would enjoy everything to the best of my abilities for him and I would help others who were struggling in life. “
Eden kept going and soon after, she and her husband heard some awesome news! They were pregnant again and able to welcome a beautiful rainbow baby named Joseph William.
Her determination that began with being “fed up” ended being full of love. Now Eden says she’s “beyond proud of how far” she’s managed to come and still works hard so she will be happy and active for her little boy.
“This journey was a wonderful growing experience for me … I want to show that anyone is able to do this. I am living proof.”
