Doctors Prayed Before An Extremely Rare Surgery. When It Ended, I Couldn’t Believe My Eyes!

This Haitian-born surgeon, Henri Ford, made medical history in his home country when he performed a rare procedure for the first time.

The patients were six-month-old infants, Marian and Michelle Bernard, who were born joined at the abdomen. The complex surgery to separate the twins took an entire team of doctors and nurses, lasting a total of seven hours.

Conjoined twins are very rare, about 1 in 1,000 births, and the chances of survival are very low, let alone putting infants in such a fragile state through one of the toughest surgeries in the world… but it was successful!

What an amazing story about triumph, perseverance and hope. I’m so inspired to see what Dr. Ford was able to accomplish.
