Double-Amputee Boy Only Had One Wish. This Airline Just Made It Come True.

After an accident two years ago that led to the amputation of both of his legs, Li Haifeng biggest wish was for “a pair of wings” that could help him fly.

China Eastern Airlines granted this 4-year-old’s wish when they made the boy a “pilot” for the day. He not only took a tour of a plane, he also got a chance to visit the cockpit where he excitedly  sat alongside the pilot.

“It was the first time for the boy to see a real plane. He was extremely happy,” said a representative from the airline.

In addition to giving Li a full tour, the airline has also offered to fly him home from the hospital when he’s ready to be released, which would be his first plane ride!

But the story doesn’t stop there. Li, who comes from a low-income migrant family, first gained attention in China when a video uploaded last week showed him energetically dancing the hit song, “Little Apple,” on his hospital bed.

Since then, Li and his family have received donations from the online community that will go toward his treatment – and so far more than 500,000 yuan (about $80,000) has been given!
