An estimated 30 to 45 million people are trapped in slavery today. The expressions of their enslavement are endless, but a staggering number of children and teenagers are lured and entrapped in the sex trade. For the few that escape the cycle of fear, torture and forced addiction, there are few options for their rehabilitation.
3 young women from the US took it upon themselves to help as many of these victims as they can. Sara, Savannah and Grace decided to set out on a months long bicycle journey, following highway 1 from Washington state to Southern California. So far, they have raised nearly $50,000 for an Austin TX non profit called The Refuge under their banner ‘Pedal the Pacific.’
The Refuge is dedicated to housing and rehabilitating young women rescued from the sex trade. They are in the process of building a multimillion dollar equine facility for their rehabilitation… and it’s for that facility the Pedal the Pacific was realized.
The Refuge is a noble cause that deserves our respect: so help partner with Pedal the Pacific to get The Refuge the funding they need. All you have to do is watch and share InspireMore stories.
