Born in Queens, New York City, Damien began playing violin at the age of eight and was accepted to the Julliard School of Music at age 10. The prodigy started performing on street corners and subways, but a big break in 2006 landed him a role in the film “Step Up.” Since, Damien has continued to push the boundaries of his instrument, and recently released a few celebrated songs of his own.

In the video below, Damien takes a hip-hop beat and weaves an amazing, emotional melody through the track. His melding of the old world and the new is seriously creative – and you’re going to want more.

Here’s the Takeaway: It’s critical that all of us continue to push the boundaries of our passions.  The more everyone can embrace a progressing attitude, the more amazing things will come… like Damien’s innovative style.
