Teacher Turns Tables On Bullies With Simple Trick, Now It’s Catching On Like Wildfire.

A Georgia schoolteacher inadvertently started a new trend last month with her “space buns”hairstyle, with girls– and even some boys– in her 3rd grade class getting in on the fun! But the ‘do isn’t just gaining attention for its cute look; it’s the sweet story behind it that has everyone talking.

Kinsie Johns teaches at Annette Winn Elementary School in Lithia Springs, Georgia. Near the end of April, she posted a photo of herself and a student posed side-by-side with matching Princess Leia-style buns.

The previous day, the young girl had confided in Johns that other students in the classroom were “making fun of her hair and picking on her.”So Johns decided to turn the teasing into a teachable moment.

She and the unnamed student showed up the next day with matching hairdos!

When her students asked why she was sporting the same “space buns”look, Johns explained that “it’s okay to stand out and be different.â€

“The little point I was trying to make turned into a huge support for my little friend,”she said. “All the girls in my class are wearing their hair in ‘space buns’ and even some of the boys got involved!â€

The post was greeted enthusiastically by parents, with one not only thanking her for being the girl’s champion that day, but pointing out that children silently absorb every little thing adults say and do.

“BTW, it’s awesome that she was willing to trust and confide in you,”she added. “That speaks volumes to how you treat her!â€
