Businesses around the world are stepping up to help people through the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Lately, residents of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, have seen signs popping up around the city, and they can’t help but chuckle when they read the short messages. They’re the work of a local company called Rebel Graphix, which is dedicated to spreading hope and smiles during this difficult time.
Rebel Graphix specializes in creating signs with custom designs. When the novel coronavirus pandemic began, they realized they could meet their neighbors’ need for positivity with their products!
The timing couldn’t have been better. In March, the city temporarily lifted a ban on posting signs to support small businesses, so Rebel Graphix got to work!

“We came up with this idea of just putting some inspirational messages out in town where people were walking, encouraging them to call their grandparent or just encouraging them in general,” said Lewis Roeling, the company’s president. “It wasn’t intended to be an advertisement. It was just intended for us to bring a smile on people’s faces.”
The messages range from “Alexa, Skip To May” to “Introverts, Check On Your Extroverts.” Two of our personal favorites are “Pajamas Are The New Black” and “Social Distance Doesn’t Mean We Aren’t Together.”
They’ve put up about 75 signs so far and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. How could they? Locals love finding these hidden gems around town!
“It’s just good to see that it’s having a positive impact,” Lewis added.
While the messages may be simple, their impact is amazing! Words are powerful, after all. Let’s all make sure to safely spread kindness in our own communities and remind our neighbors that we’re in this together.
