Jorge Narvaez and his daughters sang this touching cover of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros‘ song “Home.” The video was made in hopes of promoting the petition to bring his mother home through the National Immigrant Youth Alliance and the #BringThemHome Project. Jorge’s mother, Esther Alvarado, was detained along with 150 other families.

At the time, while Jorge was pleading for support, he wrote,
“No one should be forced to live away from their loved ones. If you believe in family reunification, please support us by signing the national petition to bring them home and staying informed by following the National Immigrant Youth Alliance.”
But there’s good news: A little over a month after his video was published, Jorge updated his description saying that his mother was home! We’re so happy for you all, Jorge!
Aside from the cause behind it, the performance itself really pulls at your heartstrings. To see Alexa cheering up her little sister Eliana (who was probably thinking about her grandmother) with so much love, and the emotion shared between the three really brings the message “Home.”
