Singers love giving fans a great concert experience and will often make sure they do so by encouraging the audience to participate in a collective chorus.
Some will even bring one lucky individual up on stage and give them a chance to showcase their own talents. That said, the professionals probably don’t expect to get upstaged by fans at their own concerts.
On Feb. 20, Michael Bublé performed at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. During a break, the Canadian crooner asked the crowd to name their favorite shower songs. Erin Bellucci, a young woman in the front row, managed to catch his attention and shared that hers was the Etta James classic, “At Last.” That’s when, at the request of Erin’s sister, Allison, Bublé invited her to sing the R&B hit.
Erin was clearly taken aback when Bublé handed her his microphone, whirling around to look at Allison, who was recording. For a moment, it seemed as if the nervous 21-year-old might back out.
But then she turns back as the song starts and confidently belts out the lyrics with a musical aptitude nobody anticipated.
Bublé can only sit and stare, stunned by Erin’s beautiful voice and soulful execution. “That was incredible,” he gushed to Erin after she finished, jokingly adding, “Too incredible if you ask me.” She was so good, in fact, Bublé felt the need to emphasize that the impromptu performance wasn’t contrived.
As it turns out, Erin isn’t exactly a newcomer to the singing world. She’s had plenty of practice studying music at the University of Delaware. Still, nobody can dispute that she’s bursting with talent — just ask the thousands who watched Allison’s footage.
Erin has since appeared on various network shows, even giving a second “At Last” performance for Inside Edition. Friends, family and fans alike can’t get enough of her voice, writing to tell her she’s amazing.
“Oh my God that was unbelievable! Speechless!” one person wrote. Another shared they got goosebumps from listening.
There’s no doubt Erin has a promising future, whether it involves pursuing a musical career or something else. Watch as Erin steals the spotlight from Bublé in the video below, and share her talent with the world.
