Marine Can’t Attend Girlfriend’s Prom, So His Baby Brother Steps In.

For many teens, prom can be one of the most magical nights in their high school career.

The music, the dancing, the decorations — it truly is a wonderful night. Unfortunately, though, when your significant other can’t attend, a dark cloud can be cast upon the evening. Skylar Fontaine’s boyfriend Gage had a very good excuse for not being able to accompany her to the dance — he’s a Marine. But after the initial disappointment, she got over it thanks to one cutie.

Skylar was initially upset that her boyfriend couldn’t attend prom because he’s away for six months of training for the Marines. But she quickly got over her disappointment when she learned that a special someone wanted to step in.

Gage’s little brother, Clay is just two years old, but in an effort to support his big bro, the tiny toddler stepped up to the plate.

Clay, decked to the nines in Marine blues and later a little tuxedo, posed for prom photos with the New Orleans teen before the big dance.

Naturally, the adorable photos quickly went viral.

Skylar says, “Clay wants to be just like his big brother. I’m very close to him, he is like my own little brother.”

Isn’t he the cutest thing?

It turns out that the awesome prom photo shoot wasn’t just for Skylar, though. As she explained on Twitter:

I did this for my loving boyfriend who misses his family that he’s been away from for the past 6 months. That’s all I care about. He is missing his little brother grow up. The least I can do is something like this for him, for the sacrifice he is making.

We’re sure Gage approves!
