The Silfra fissure, famous for being one of the top dive sites in the world, is located in Thingvellir National Part, Iceland and has two very special features.
VIDEOS BY INSPIRE MORE
First, it literally lies in between the North American and Eurasian continents. That means you could dive or snorkel right where the continental plates meet and drift apart about 2cm per year. Incredible!
Secondly, the underwater visibility in the Silfra fissure is over 100 meters… it’s deemed by some to be the clearest water in the world. Just try to imagine that sight – truly unlike any other in the world.
Filmed with a Canon 5D MarkII, the divers in this video show the unmatched beauty of the crack.
