Named after the Roman god of war, Mars may be the second smallest planet in our solar system but it’s filled to the brim with mystery.

According to Wikipedia, the red planet has “surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the volcanoes, valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth.” In fact, the latest discovery is that of moist spots, meaning that there might be actual water on the planet!
While we recognize some of the same natural sites on Mars, so much we still can’t explain. Scientists will continue to explore its beautiful yet baffling nature and get to know more and more about this incredible planet’s personality.
