Pouty Kids Line Up For Back-To-School Pic, But Mom’s Face Has Internet In Stitches.

Moms, we know you love your kids. And this summer, you’ve gotten a lot of quality time with them.

But there’s no shame in wanting a little time to yourself, and it definitely doesn’t make you a bad mom if the idea of the kids heading back to school gets you just a little pumped.

Jena Willingham, an Alabama mom of 3, definitely knows this to be true.

Jena is mom to Wrangler (11), Emmy (7), and Sykes (5), all of whom went back to school Monday. This is Sykes’ first year of school, so Jena has especially been looking forward to this day.

“It’s the first time in 11 years I haven’t had a kid at home,” she said. “I was excited to get a break because they’re a lot of work.”

She’s just keeping it real!

Her kids may look angelic but, according to Jena, “they have been fighting over everything all summer.”

“So I said, ‘I’m so tired of listening to y’all argue, I’m just going to sit in the pool on the first day of school and let my brain hear the silence.'”

True to her word, when the start of the school year rolled around, mom lined up all her kiddos for the traditional first-day-of-school photo… and she plopped herself right in the front and center, mimosa in hand!

The photo has quickly gone viral; moms and dads everywhere can definitely relate!

Of course, there has been some negative feedback, but Jena says she has no time for the haters. In fact, she has a bit of advice for other moms like her:

“I would just say not to feel guilty about wanting a break from your kids, because we do a lot for them.”

As far as the kiddos go, they aren’t offended by the joke at all. In fact, they are totally loving their newfound fame! Jena says her oldest thinks he’s a celebrity, and her kids have even invited her to sit with them at school (Wanting to be seen hanging out with your mom? Shocking!).

So this fall, don’t feel bad about celebrating when the school year rolls around. Just remember the words of this Mimosa Mama: “I take very good care of [my kids], and I deserve a break too!”
