Pentatonix Release Haunting Cover Of “Coldest Winter,” Chilling Melody Depicts Tragic Love Story.

Avi Kaplan, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Mitch Grassi form one of the most famous a capella groups in existence. Together, the five friends from Arlington, Texas form the world famous Pentatonix.

Ever since 2011, the group has been tearing up the airwaves. Despite their old world musical style, they never fail to bring something fresh to the table. With five years of fame and two grammy awards under their belts, you’d think the group had reached the peak of their genius, but from the looks of things they’re just getting started. In the video below, the Pentatonix tell the saddest love story with their cover of “Coldest Winter.”

Yeah, you heard right. The a capella group decided to take things up a notch and perform a cover of none other than Kanye West. Any fan of either artists wouldn’t have considered the two compatible in any sense of the word, but one listen to the track below will change their minds in a hurry.

In the video, Pentatonix tells the story of a Snowwoman who wants to see the world outside her snow-globe, but that means leaving her Snowman behind! Who would guess that a music video about snow-people could be so chilling?
