We’ve seen plenty of incredible musicians take the stage on “The Voice,” but it’s rare to find a performance that makes Gwen Stefani say she feels “excited for America.”

Yet on a Knockouts episode, a family trio called Worth the Wait did just that!
You may recall Worth the Wait from their breathtaking audition when all four judges vied to be their coach. Mama T. (AKA Tara) and two of her daughters, Mia and Jaycee, ended up selecting Blake Shelton to be their guide.
During their knockout round, two of Shelton’s groups had to compete against each other to keep their spot on the show. Worth the Wait went up against fellow country singer Ben Allen, who put in an outstanding performance. But when Mama T. and her girls took over, everyone’s jaws hit the floor once again!
“Delta Dawn” by Tanya Tucker is a classic country song that Mama T. said her family loved to sing together when she was growing up.
“One of the reasons that we picked this song was because growing up, my daddy played the guitar, and my sisters and I, we’d all sit around and sing ‘Delta Dawn,’” Mama T. told Today. “It was my dad’s favorite.â€
Both her parents are in their 80s and had just tested positive for COVID-19, so they chose the song as a tribute to lift their loved ones’ spirits back at home.
The judges were clearly impressed as the trio nailed their signature harmonization.
“I think this was easily your best performance,”judge John Legend said.
Shelton agreed, and when it came time to make the difficult choice between Ben and Worth the Wait, he chose Mama T. and the girls!
Don’t feel too bad for Ben though! One of the judges saved him at the last second! We can’t wait to see more from both of these talented teams, but we’re officially hooked on Worth the Wait.
