Hero Pit Bull Saves Family From Fire, Carries Baby To Safety.

They’re gentle, kind, and would do just about anything to make us happy and keep us safe. All over the internet there are stories of dogs rescuing both humans and animals from dire situations, and now one pit bull named Sasha is among their ranks.

When the Chaichanhda family’s home in Stockton, California, recently caught fire, it was this incredibly dedicated dog who alerted them and ultimately dragged the youngest family member to safety.

While everyone was sleeping, the eight-month-old pup noticed a suspicious smell in the air. Sasha knew she needed to alert her loved ones. She started barking incessantly and slamming into one of the bedroom doors.

Lantana Chaichanhda, who goes by Nana, was staying in the building, which belonged to her cousin, when she realized that the complex was going up in flames. Nana was still getting her bearings when Sasha high-tailed it to the bedroom where Nana’s seven-month-old daughter, Masailah, was sleeping.

In Nana’s words, “[Sasha] had already had my baby by the diaper and was dragging her off the bed.” The grateful mother wasn’t shocked that Sasha dragged the little one to safety, saying the baby and the dog had a strong bond from day one. They even take baths together!

Nana was so thankful for Sasha’s fearless dedication and credits her with alerting them to the fire before it was too late. “I owe her everything,” she said. “If it wasn’t for her, I would have still been in bed and things could have taken a worse turn.”
