Rosco’s Pizza manager Shannon Crice received a call one evening during the dinner rush from a stranger that stuck with her. The person on the other end of the call asked if Rosco’s, a tiny shop in Union, Michigan, ever threw away leftovers. She said that they didn’t because they make the pizzas to order. She told a co-worker about the call who wondered if that person on the call was hungry, she told Today. Shannon felt terrible and posted about the call on Facebook.

“To whom it may concern: you called Roscos last week, the phone call was out of the “ordinary” You asked if we throw our food away at the end of the night?? I explained, no.. we make it to order and rarely have anything left at the end of the night. I was busy at the time of the call and hurried off the phone. Now, a few days later I haven’t stop thinking about it. I didn’t take the time to ask more questions and it threw me off. My conscious hasn’t let me put it down. So if this was you, and maybe you were hungry and I dismissed it. Please call back so we can have a different conversation. It hit me later that may have been why you were asking,” she wrote.
Rosco’s Pizza’s Post Went Viral
People loved that Rosco’s Pizza wanted to help those in need, and many made suggestions about what to do. These inspired the restaurant’s “meal wall.
“Meal board details and pics will be posted by Wednesday of next week!! Thanks to all of you for donations and the inspiration,” Shannon sahred on Faceoolk. “Also there will be a new Cash App for donations posted in this chat soon called “Roscos meal Board and Meal Blessings” so we can keep the donations separate and organized better. We will use hearts on our meal board and state/Country instead of names of those who donated. We’re excited to help others in time of need. God Bless all who contributed.”
She told Today that it took her time to get caught up, but now that she is, the love from others continues to humble her.
“Now that I’m not so busy, I’ve had a chance to sit and look at the board, and it was very overwhelming emotionally,” she said. “Looking at how many meals are up there is just amazing.”
