Apparently 44-year-old Paul Zerdin can’t decide whether he’s a ventriloquist or a magician.
Regardless of his actual title, Zerdin went on to win America’s Got Talent in 2015 – but one act in particular likely set him up for his eventual victory. During the quarter finals of AGT, Zerdin walked on stage with his go-to dummy Sam. The duo don’t have a history of getting along, and Sam finally showed his true colors that night.

Frustrated with the continual backtalk and berating of the audience, Zerdin left Sam alone on stage to see how he handled the lime light alone. The audience held their breath as inanimate Sam sat on a stool center stage.
For an agonizing few seconds, Sam didn’t make a peep… until suddenly his fabric facade took on a life of its own.

With Zerdin nowhere in sight, Sam poked a little fun at the judges’ expense and had the crowd roaring with laughter. It really is a performance you have to see to believe. Check out the hilarity in the video below!
