Hilarious 6th Grade Ventriloquist Steals Show, But When She Starts To Yodel The Crowd Goes Wild!

It’s easy to scoff at ventriloquism as being a rather “out there” hobby, but it’s one that requires immense skill! It takes all the comedic timing and stage presence of a standup comedian coupled with the coordination of puppeteer… and oftentimes singing skill are thrown into the mix, too! Plus, there are certain qualities unique to ventriloquists, like the ability to speak without opening one’s mouth, create unique voices, and throw sound.

With all of the skills required, it’s no wonder that the ventriloquists we’ve shared with you before—like this America’s Got Talent winner and this woman who used masks in a hilarious routine—were adults who had years of practicing. But the little girl in the video below, a 6th grader, is a young ventriloquist… and her skills absolutely blew us away!

The girl, named Darci Farmer, performed the routine below back in August as a way to welcome her teachers and classmates back to school. “We’re about to perform for some of my teachers!” she excitedly tells her dummy at the beginning of the act.

It starts out cute; Darci does a great job of keeping her mouth still while her dummy “speaks,” and the two have a nice rapport. But when music suddenly begins to play and Darci begins to sing “I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart,” that’s when she really stuns everyone!

Not only is Darci a phenomenal singer, but she has created a separate voice for her puppet, complete with a country twang. When the pair begin to yodel, the crowd can’t help but break into cheers.

Check out Darci’s amazing skill below and share!

If you haven't had a chance to see this amazing talented 6th grade student, Darci Farmer, you have to watch this!! Wow! What a great way to celebrate students and welcome our DC staff back!!
