Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Gifts His Stuntman & Cousin A Sweet New Ride.

If there’s one celebrity we’d love to get to know in real life, it’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Over the years, the actor and former WWE star has proven time and again that he’s a wonderful son, friend, father, and role model for his fans. Now, he’s going viral once again for a video he shared on his Instagram page that’s filled with all of the kindness and good humor he’s now famous for displaying.

This is Tanoai Reed. If he looks familiar to you, it’s not your eyes! Tanoai is not only Dwayne’s stunt double, but he’s also his cousin. Thanks to Tanoai’s family resemblance (and formidable physique!), Tanoai is the guy who ensures that The Rock doesn’t get hurt while filming all of those incredible action movies.

Dwayne explained on Instagram:

Over the course of my career, my stunt double (and cousin) Tanoai Reed @samoanstuntman has broken multiple bones, severed tendons, torn ligaments & just been an overall dominating bad a** achieving several “Stuntman of the Year” honors. All done with one goal in mind – deliver the best movie possible to the world.

After all these years of taking the fall for him, not to mention remaining in the background instead of on the red carpet, Dwayne decided to put on his “Dwanta Claus” hat to surprise Tanoai with an amazing gift. Using the ruse that the men had to do an interview for some behind-the-scenes DVD special features, Dwayne got Tanoai to stand in a parking lot as cameras rolled.

As they talk, you can see a vehicle pull out of the frame to reveal a brand-new shiny black truck behind them. There’s even a big red bow on the hood!

I had this custom pick up truck delivered just in time to surprise him (he’s still recovering from a stunt injury) while we give what he thought was going to be an interview about our careers together. As you’ll see the moment I put my hands on my hips, that’s the drivers cue to pull away and reveal the big surprise.

Suddenly, Dwayne stops talking movies and starts talking about how much Tanoai has meant to him during his career, both on-screen and off. Without skipping a beat, he says, “Enjoy your new truck, brother!”

The look on Tanoai’s face is priceless! He’s so overwhelmed by this unexpected kindness!

Not only does Tanoai represent our family and my career with relentless commitment and passion. He also represents an entire Hollywood stunt community that is truly the backbone of our business. Love you uso and thank you for the blood, sweat, tears and years. We’re just getting started.

Pretty amazing, right! But let’s not forget that gifting his loved ones with cars is nothing new for The Rock. Remember the time Dwayne gave his mother a Cadillac?

At 14 I saw my mom crying about our only car being repossessed. This felt good. Merry Christmas mom.

Or how about the time he surprised his dad with a brand-new SUV? That was also pretty terrific!

How do we get on your Christmas list, Dwanta Claus?

Just (half) kidding!

We love seeing a celebrity pay back the folks who’ve always had their backs. In this case, Tanoai literally has his back, so he definitely deserves the gorgeous new ride!
