Charlie Puth Leads Crowd In Rendition Of “Friends” Theme Song To Honor Matthew Perry.

Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler in the sitcom Friends, has passed away. Fans around the world have taken the loss with a heavy heart. To lift the spirits of the audience and honor Matthew, Charlie Puth performed the Friends theme song during his Melbourne show.

Charlie started his performance with a dedication to Matthew.

“I want to dedicate this song to another song,” he started. “And if it makes you think of a person… that’s who it’s dedicated to.”

Then Charlie began playing the recognizable first few notes of the Friends theme song.

“Does this mean anything to you?” he asked the audience. They erupted in a roar of appreciation.

Once Charlie got to the lyrics, he asked the audience to sing along. What resulted was a beautiful crowd rendition of the well-known theme song in honor of Matthew’s loss.

Charlie followed this song up with a performance of his hit, “See You Again.” It was a profound evening of performance, dedicated to an important icon of our time.
