Everyone knows that in most families, it is the mom who keeps things going. No dad-shaming, just a fact. The expectation for a dad is to “keep the kids alive,” and everything else falls under the mom’s purview. Even with such a low bar to hurdle, some dads miss in a big way. When the daddy duties go wrong, there isn’t much else to do but laugh (as long as the kids are still alive).

Keith and Marquita Dumas are the parents of Kinley A’lani, who is currently experiencing her terrible twos. While Keith sleeps beside her, Kinley is calmly getting into the super jumbo family-size jar of Vaseline. For anyone familiar with petroleum jelly, you know that isn’t going to end well.
Marquita walks in on the scene and starts calling to wake Kevin. Kinley puts a finger to her lips and says, “Shhhhh.” She called out to Kevin, increasingly louder, at least five times before he stirred. When he woke up and saw the sight before him, he did the only thing he could. He chuckled.
The child has Vaseline smeared all over her legs and face. Would it be wrong to point out that Kevin has failed at his daddy duties once again? On another occasion, Kinley got into the powder while her daddy slept peacefully next to her.
We’re unsure which mess was the worst to clean up. While powder will fly everywhere, you can shake the bedding outside to knock most of it out. Vaseline is petroleum-based, which means it will need a detergent that cuts grease or some hand scrubbing with Dawn dish soap.
