Ever had one of those days when it feels like Murphy’s Law is out to get you and you can’t seem to do anything right? We’ve all been there. From leaving the house with two different shoes on to sending an email to your boss that was 100 percent not supposed to go to your boss, everyday existence can be chock-full of fails. This well-meaning dad knows exactly what we’re talking about.
It all started when his dog, Nieves, needed to be picked up from the groomer.

He made his way to the local PetSmart to get the nearly 10-year-old Maltese just like any other day, except it wasn’t just like any other day. Why, you ask? Well, because he came home with the wrong dog.
According to his son Alex, who posted the entire ordeal on Twitter where it soon went viral, Dad went ahead and brought home someone else’s pup and had absolutely no idea until his kids said something to the effect of, “Hey, Pops. Here’s the thing. This is someone else’s dog and you have to return her.” You know, since they wanted their own dog back.

As it turned out, there were two Maltese there that day and Alex’s dad was handed the wrong one. It all seemed totally normal, he said, because the pooch followed him to his car and hopped in like it was no big deal. Joy ride!

Needless to say, his sons were a little surprised when he walked through the door. “My brother and I died of laughter and asked why he would take the dog home if he thought something was off. He said, ‘I thought I was getting old and my eyes were betraying me,'” Alex explained.

The video he posted on Twitter shows the two sons laughing their faces off while Dad looks on, oblivious. True to dad form, he said, “Yeah, I have to fix this before Mom gets home.”

The second time Dad visited the groomer’s, he texted Alex before leaving to make sure that this was, in fact, little Nieves.
