“POV You’re Away At Uni So Your Parents Decide To Recreate Harry Potter”

A man stands inside a home near a dining table. He's dressed like Severus Snape from "Harry Potter," wig and all. His mouth is agape because he's talking

What is one of your favorite childhood memories? For a young woman who goes by Lupin on social media, watching the Harry Potter series must be high on the list. Best of all, it’s clear she didn’t watch these films alone. Her parents also enjoyed the series, and they’re proving that to be true in the silliest, most unexpected way. They recreate scenes from the Harry Potter films themselves.

You might be thinking, “Aw, what a sweet family project!” But here’s the thing… it seems that Lupin actually has nothing to do with their recreations. According to a social media post she shared, this is something her parents do while she’s away at university. Watch the video below to catch a glimpse at their cinematography and acting skills.

Needless to say, fans of Harry Potter are going crazy for these parents’ recreation of the series. In this video alone, people simply cannot stop raving over how much Dad sounds exactly like Alan Rickman, the late actor who played Severus Snape.

While Their Kid is Away at University, These Parents Take the Time to Recreate Scenes from the Harry Potter Series

“I feel like Alan Rickman would get such a kick out of this, he attended all of Daniel Radcliffe’s plays and was such a fan of the art form,” someone points out in reply to this popular video. Other commenters add, “Your dad deserves an Oscar for his diversity” and “This is the only Harry Potter remake I’m watching.”

With eight movies to draw inspiration from, it seems that Lupin’s parents will have plenty to do while she is away at university. The real question is this: Will they finish by the time she graduates? Only time will tell.
