Woman Stumbles Across Damaged Shark Egg, Is Amazed To Find The Baby Still Alive!

From beautiful shells to interesting rocks, you never know what you’ll find when taking a stroll on a beach. It’s also pretty common to come across aquatic creatures. Still, a woman named Cindy is shocked to have discovered a horn shark egg! The unusual casing’s texture makes it appear as though it’s made of glass, but it’s actually quite soft.

At first, Cindy is sure that this poor creature is no longer alive. The odds of survival after being exposed to air, especially with the top of the casing no longer fully sealed, seems low. But then, in taking a closer look, Cindy is happily proven wrong.

“When I peaked inside, I saw the tiniest shark face looking at me,” Cindy recalls. “I ran to the water and began to further open the egg, still not knowing if it was alive because I wasn’t seeing any movement.”

At a distance, the horn shark egg doesn’t look like an egg at all. But the spiral shape helps them secure into crevices in the ocean. Inside is an embryo, each one containing a single pup.

In the video below, a woman named Rebecca holds one of these eggs up to the sun, giving us a surprisingly clear view of the little one inside.

The little one in Rebecca’s video isn’t ready to hatch, but that’s not the case for the one Cindy finds! Luckily, she gets the egg back in the ocean just in time, and the baby shark is doing just fine! Needless to say, this is a special moment that Cindy is sure to cherish forever.

Watch the shark egg Cindy discovers transform into a baby horn shark in the heartwarming video below.

@cindywithasea One of the most beautiful moments I’ve been lucky to share. While tidepooling I came across a horn shark egg exposed to air, and also no longer fully sealed on top. I thought a shark had either hatched or unfortunately died to the elements. When I peaked inside, I saw the tiniest shark face looking at me. I ran to the water and began to further open the egg, still not knowing if it was alive because I wasn’t seeing any movement. After a couple of seconds in the water, it began to take some breaths and squirm around ♥️ #babyshark #tidepooling #tidepoolingadventures #hornshark #sharkegg #catalinaisland #ocean #underwaterworld ♬ Little Life – Cordelia
