Dancing With the Stars’ dedication night always brings out lots of emotions. While we expected to get a bit misty, we didn’t think we’d be in full-blown sobs watching Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa dance. But when the 10 Things I Hate About You star reunited with her castmates to pay homage to Heath Ledger, the tears started to flow.

“I see pictures from that time, and I’m like, wow,” Julia explained during rehearsals. “It was so easy with him. I have so many great memories, but I’m also really sad, because I wish I could pick up the phone and be like, ‘Hey dude, people really care about that movie. We did something special.’ And I can’t do that.”
Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa Danced to a Very Special Song
In the 1999 film, Heath Ledger’s character tries to woo Julia Stiles’ character by singing “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” in the bleachers while the school band accompanies him. Choosing that song and reuniting with Gabrielle Union, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Andrew Keegan, Susan May Pratt, and Larisa Oleynik made the dedication so special.
Fans fell in love with Julia and Heath all over again.
“IT WAS PERFECT!! The poem, the cast, I cannot! Thank you for doing it so well,” a fan wrote.
This fan agreed, writing, “It was BEAUTIFUL and seeing the cast join her at the end was the CHERRY on top! Forever my comfort movie.”
“We’re not ever going to recover from this. Not even a little bit. Not even at all,” a nod to the movie reads.
“I want to recreate the lust for life that he had in that scene,” she said.
It seems Julia Stiles achieved just what she’s hoped.
