Bob Iger served as CEO of the Walt Disney Company from 2005 to 2020. He stepped down, and Bob Chapek took over the House of Mouse. But controversial decisions caused a very short tenure for Chapek, and Bob Iger took back the reins in 2022. He officially retired in February 2026, turning the company over to new CEO Josh D’Amaro. Bob will stay on the board as an advisor until December. On October 20, he shared what’s next, and fans are very excited.

Bob Iger Will Release a New Book in 2027
Bob Iger knows that Disney fans want to know everything about the brand. His new book, One Last Time: Managing Crisis and Building Resilience at Disney, will hit shelves in the spring, according to People.
He shared in a release that his new book will explain how he made difficult decisions under massive scrutiny.
“This is a comeback story,” he shared. “It’s about what Disney needed to find its way back to its core values and what that journey taught me about leading in a time of unprecedented challenge and change.”
According to the book’s description, we’ll learn how Bob Iger’s retirement lasted less than a year before leaders begged him to return and save Disney.
“When Iger agreed to return, he did so with one goal in mind: to put the failed succession behind him and put Disney back on firm footing. To survive, the company—and Iger himself—would have to become more resilient, innovative, and, above all, creative. Iger would also have to learn to be a new kind of leader, and he would be challenged in ways he never imagined,” the description reads.
One Last Time: Managing Crisis and Building Resilience at Disney is currently available for preorder.
