A little girl asked for one thing for her birthday party—a doll dressed in a Funfetti ballgown cake—but the bakery said they couldn’t make one, so her dad stepped up and created one himself.
Mason Smith, a beloved dad influencer, shared his perfectly executed attempt at making his daughter’s dream cake on his TikTok page, dadsocial. He said it was his first time trying to bake such a novelty, but it looked like he was a seasoned pro.
“I want to start off by saying that I’ve never attempted to make a birthday cake beyond a basic square one,” he captioned. “So give me some grace. Also, the doll was new and clean, don’t worry. Please drop a comment with any tips or tricks you have for me for next time!”
Mason’s main subject was a large, blonde doll that was wearing a sparkly, blue tutu dress. To create a full-length gown, he used four different-sized bundt cake pans.
After baking the birthday cake mix, the devoted dad cut larger holes in the layers, staked them on top of each other, and fit the doll inside. It was a perfect fit. Once he fitted the doll with her dress, all Maison had to do was decorate.

The blue-eyed beauty ended up getting an off-white skirt with pink ribbons, red flowers, and blue and yellow sprinkles.
Maison seemed pretty pleased with the end result, as he should have been.
