There’s a reason why Alaska is such a popular tourist destination — well, quite a few reasons, actually. But one of the biggest has to be the breathtaking nature that seems to cover every inch of this beautiful state. There’s much to explore, but Denali National Park should be at the very top of your list. While there’s lots of nature to admire (the park contains 6 million acres, after all) the main attraction is Mount Denali.

This permanently snow-covered mountain is famous for quite a few reasons. For starters, it’s considered to be the tallest peak in North America. The exact height? A whopping 20,310 feet above sea level. That also makes it the third-highest of the Seven Summits. This refers to the tallest peaks on all seven continents. You can imagine, then, how majestic it must look from above… except you don’t have to simply imagine it! Check out this breathtaking view in the video below.

Madison and her husband, Tyler, have been traveling together for over three years now. So it’s particularly impressive that Mount Denali may have been the very best view they got in 2024 — but it’s also not surprising, either! It’s like these majestic mountains were made to be viewed from this angle.

That said, actually getting to see this view in-person is rather rare. In fact, according to Madison, only 30% of visitors get this opportunity. The reason why goes back to its super high elevation. Mount Denali is so tall, it has its own weather pattern!
“I went in mid September which is the rainy season in Alaska, the flight crew said for the past month they barely got views of Denali due to clouds,” someone in the comment section shares. “We were lucky to see it in all its glory.”
