There’s something about the sound of a ripping brass band that makes it impossible to sit still.

On a visit to New Orleans, Stefanie Anthony of Pensacola, Florida, experienced this phenomenon firsthand when her toddler son spotted a group of street musicians and couldn’t resist joining in.

Stefani and her 1-year-old son, Boone, were wandering around Jackson Square when they heard the sound of lively music being played. The family discovered the Where Ya At Brass Band putting on a show. When they stopped to listen for a while, Stefani quickly discovered that merely observing the musicians was not enough for little Boone.

The child grabbed the first thing he could find that resembled a trumpet and ran right up to the strangers as they played. A friend began to record as Boone tooted away on his fake horn, drawing the attention of the band’s trumpet player in the process. The band member then squatted right down next to the little boy to give him a bird’s-eye view of his fingers as he blew his horn.
The video is short, but it’s such a treat to see the little guy swaying his hips in time with the music! The band members all seem to be just as delighted by their tiny fan as the people milling about, and it’s easy to see why. Boone clearly has a true appreciation for music! Get that boy a trumpet STAT!

Stefani uploaded the video to her Facebook page along with the caption:
Our little 1 year old baby boy went out there and ‘performed’ with an outstanding band in front of a huge crowd on Jackson Square. Boone received so many smiles and cheers from so many folks; it was the most beautiful thing I think I’ve ever seen. Go to Where Ya At Brass Band page and show these guys some love, they deserve it! You can book them for any occasion! So glad we were able to find out who they are.

The love of music really does seem to be something we’re born with. Let’s hope Stefani gets Boone some music lessons to capture that inherent love for jazz!
