There are pros and cons to every mode of transportation. For example, planes will get you to far more places than a car. Plus, it’s often a much faster way to get there. On the other hand, flying comes with a lot of hassles, like the potential of a flight getting canceled. There are also fellow passengers to worry about. Sometimes, a crying baby onboard can cause extra stress and (literal) headache.

While these frustrations are understandably… well, frustrating, sometimes people take their frustrations out on the parents of crying little ones. To Prepare for Her Baby’s First Flight, This Mom Goes Out of Her Way to Show Fellow Passengers Kindness
Aware of how much people hate flights with crying babies, Mom looked for a way make her fellow passengers’ experience better. As others have pointed out, there’s a bit to unpack about this kind gesture.
“This is so sweet but also… kind of breaks my heart that we live in a world in which parents feel the need to do that,” one person perfectly summarizes in reply to this viral video.
With that in mind, two things can be true at once: First, it is sad parents are made to feel like this kind gesture is necessary. The second is that this thoughtful act goes to show that kindness always persists, no matter how scary the world can feel at times.
“Dear new parents: no you don’t have to do this. Your babies have the right to exist and be. We all know babies cry. We know you try your best,” someone else insists, with another adding, “You can tell that she is a beautiful soul.”
