The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles will hold its annual gala on October 17, 2026. Though much of the evening’s events remain under wraps, we got a huge bit of news on October 8. Taylor Swift will take the stage to perform live. She performed at the Grammy Museum in August, and now she’ll take on the Academy. Though she’s yet to win an Oscar, Taylor has written several songs for soundtracks. It’s likely just a matter of time. Perhaps “I Knew It, I Knew You,” her song for “Toy Story 5,” will be the first Oscar nomination.

There Is Nothing Quite Like a Taylor Swift Live Show
Even if she’s only performing a short set, Taylor Swift live is an experience like no other. She connects so deeply with her audience, and fans continue to want more.
“Taylor is an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world,” Amy Homma, director and President of the Academy Museum and Academy Collection, shared in a news release obtained by Variety. “We are thrilled to welcome her to this year’s gala and look forward to her performance to close a wonderful evening of honoring three extraordinary filmmakers and supporting the Academy Museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema.”
Taylor Swift recently stepped out in New York City with her husband, Travis Kelce, for dinner at Torrisi. The pair celebrated Travis’ 37th birthday on October 5. Taylor will turn 37 herself on December 13. It’s been quite a year for the couple, and we imagine they’re ready to slow things down for a while. An Oscar nomination for Taylor Swift would be the perfect way to start the next year. We’ve got our fingers crossed.
