‘Put Down Your Phone’: Christian Phone Blocking ‘Be Still Card’ Wants You to Focus on Faith and Family

Be Still Card

We would not be where we are today without tremendous advances in technology. The world is available to us at the touch of a button on the device we carry with us everywhere we go. Sometimes, our phones become much more of a distraction than they should be, and we need to distance ourselves. Now more than ever, families want to reconnect. They want to be intentional about their time together, but it’s not always easy to disconnect from the world. Be Still Card paired with an iPhone app helps us to block out the distractions from our phones to focus on our faith and our family.

“Our four focus modes are built around the rhythms of a faithful life — Family Time for being present at dinner or on weekends, Sabbath Mode for full-day digital rest, Deep Work for giving your best to the work God has called you to, and Church Mode for worship and Bible study without distraction. When you tap your card, you don’t just see a timer or a locked screen. You see Scripture. You see a reminder of why you’re choosing presence,” Be Still Card explains.

An Intentional Tap of Be Still Card Can Change Everything

Be Still Card does not require a subscription or advanced technological knowledge. Instead, the card has an NFC chip inside that works like a credit or debit card. A simple tap of the card will prompt you to choose from four focuses: Family Time, Sabbath, Deep Work, or Church. The distracting apps will fade away, and a timer will appear with a Scripture and a meditation verse. A second tap of the card is all you need to get back to typical phone use.

Be Still Card is more than just an app; it’s a way for families to reconnect with each other. When we prioritize time for family and prayer, it makes a dynamic change to every part of our lives. The four focus modes offer the convenience of talking, texting, listening to music, and taking photos, without the distractions of things like social media, games, and news.

Be Still Card provides daily devotionals, app limits, and scheduling tools. It allows users to track stewardship, create small prayer groups, and develop an experience that fits their individual needs. If an app is currently blocked, a Scripture Shield will appear as a reminder to be present.

Life goes by very quickly. It’s important to be intentional with our faith and our families and make as much time as we can for that which matters most. Be Still Card can help.
