Target Shopper Overhears Mom Say She Can’t Buy Kid Slushy, Steps In With Sweet Surprise.

Last week in Morning Smile, we shared a list with you of 5 strangers who offered support to moms and asked you to tell us about a time you were similarly supported. Morning Smiler Pamm P. shared her story with us, about an act of kindness from over 2 decades ago she’s never forgotten.

It all started when Pamm was shopping at Target with her 3-year-old son. “I usually bribed him with a snack from the cafe,” she said. But Pamm only had a credit card on her that day. “Back in the day,  the cafe only took cash, no credit cards. He asked for a slushy. I patiently explained I have no money for a snack.”

Pamm went about her shopping, but moments later was stunned when a young woman walked up to her and handed her a slushy, saying, “Excuse me, ma’am. I heard you tell your son you couldn’t buy him his slushy… I hope it’s okay. I bought him one.”

“I burst out in tears,” Pamm told us. “My son is almost 26, and I remember that story like it was yesterday.”

“I offered to repay her. Nope not necessary. This happened in Nashville in 1997. If you are out there, thank you so much.”

Thanks for sharing your story, Pamm!
