Stella The Golden Picks Up Random Objects To Get Attention.

stella the golden retriever

Any dog owner knows that no matter how much love and attention you give your pets, they always want more, more, more.

Stella the golden retriever is no different. But in an effort to entice her own into more belly rubs, the pup has a unique way of getting more attention. She may be the retriever in the family, but her dad probably spends a fair share of his day chasing after her to take back all the random objects she picks up.

Twitter

Earlier this week, Travis Zander tweeted that Stella, his 1.5-year-old golden has a bad (and totally hilarious) habit: “if she feels she isn’t getting enough attention, she’ll pick up anything in site to make you tend to her.”

What followed was a series of bizarre examples, from ketchup and water bottles to remote controls and even what one person deemed an “inter-continental ballistic missile prototype.â€

Fortunately, golden retrievers’ mouths are famously soft, so it’s doubtful any of the items suffered any serious damage. But Travis has probably had to air-dry some of the electronics more often than he’d prefer.

Now, Stella seems like a very well-loved dog, but as any dog does, she begs to differ.

Below, check out a random assortment of the items she’s picked up at one time or another… all the ones Travis has been able to retrieve, anyway.

You have two more minutes before this thing is covered in drool.

Hey, I have an idea! Dump out the water and fill this with treats.

Twitter

You shouldn’t be drinking this stuff anyway, Travis. It has so much sugar!

Twitter

What, this? It was in the closet. I found a couple balls in there, too (hint, hint).

Fetch now? How about now? Is now a good time?

Twitter

They say too much time on your phone could kill you? Oh they don’t say that? Well, let’s play fetch to solve this debate.

Twitter

Not to be a nag, but it’s laundry day. We should go for a walk while the dark cycle washes… and we can play fetch while everything dries!

Twitter

I just figured out how to open this. There’s going to be a nasty spill somewhere if I don’t get a treat soon.

Twitter

I prefer a puppuccino, but that’s just me.

Netflix and belly rubs?

Twitter

You can’t read without these anyway. Let’s go for a walk.

Twitter

You said if I got this for you, we could go to the dog park. Deal’s a deal!

Twitter

I’ll just sit here and look cute until he realizes what he’s missing out on…

Most dog owners are all too familiar with this attention-seeking scheme, although most pups stick with more traditional stuff like sticks and balls.
